About Faith Oftadeh
My love for jewelry comes from a lifelong fascination with nature and the cosmos. The way minerals transform into gemstones and metals form deep within the Earth is a process that feels almost beyond human understanding. Jewelry, to me, isn’t just an accessory; it’s a way of channeling the mysteries of the universe through organic materials shaped over millennia.
For the past decade, I’ve worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where I explore the technology and robotics that help us understand planets, stars, and the potential for life beyond Earth. My experiences at NASA have deepened my appreciation for the powerful forces that drive our universe, inspiring my work with precious stones and metals. The gold that holds each gemstone, forged in supernovas, carries the same mystery and beauty as the stone itself—a reminder that we are connected to something far greater.
This perspective led me to create Yara Sophia, a jewelry line named after my daughter, and inspired by the unity of science and art. Each piece reflects my respect for these ancient elements, carrying the wonder and inspiration I feel from my work and my passion for discovery.
